Make the Cane Change

The Burdekin’s 2025 sugarcane crushing season will commence in June and is expected to be finished by December. A variety of agricultural worker and contractor roles available for the season. 

Farm hands & agricultural workers (including Permanent, part-time and seasonal) are available with positions for both experienced agricultural workers and those new to the sugarcane industry. Seasonal work is also available for Cane Haulout Operators. These positions require a HR drivers’ licence for trucks or UD licence for cane transporters. Workers must also have the ability to drive different makes and models of trucks both manual and automatic transmissions and tractors also with infield transporters.

The Burdekin is right on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef with great opportunities for living and working in a vibrant, rural community. The Burdekin also offers an affordable cost of living with easy access to Townsville, only 1 hour North.

Positions available have an attractive salary with many opportunities for ongoing employment and career progression.
