Rate Notices

Effective 1 July 2024, rate notices will issue half yearly. The rate notice includes general rates and utility charges such as but not limited to water, sewerage, garbage and water consumption charges.

Rate notices are due and payable within 31 days of issue. The rate of interest to be charged on overdue rates and charges is 12% compound interest, charged on daily rests. Council will impose interest on rates and charges from the day they become overdue.

Issue dates and due dates vary every financial year. It is the responsibility of the ratepayer to check and pay in full by the due date.

Did you know you can pay your Rates throughout the year?

To avoid a lump sum payment, why not make periodic payments in advance? You can make weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments using payment methods listed below to divide your yearly amount into smaller, more manageable amounts to make payment easier. Any payments in advance will show as a credit balance on your next rate notice.

Payment Options

You can make rate payments using one of the following payment options:

Unable to pay your rates notice by the due date?

If you are unable to pay your rates in full by the due date, Council does offer payment plan options. You will need to complete a Payment Plan Application(PDF, 153KB) and submit to Council for assessment. If you require assistance completing the application form, please contact Customer Service. You will be charged 12% compound interest on any overdue daily balance, but making frequent part payments will minimise interest charges.
