Aerodromes and Airstrips
The Burdekin Shire has two Aerodromes and a number of smaller Airstrips which are maintained by Council. Information relating to these facilities can be made to the Aerodrome Reporting Officer, Mr Rob Potter by contacting Council on 07 4783 9800.
Ayr Aerodrome
The Ayr Aerodrome is located on Aerodrome Road, Brandon
The Ayr Aerodrome has a sealed bitumen runway strip with a length of 1462m and has solar powered lighting, the Ayr Aerodrome also maintains a grass runway strip with a length of 1127m.
Aviation Fuel is available from a self-service fuel dispenser. The dispenser and payment unit is operational 24/7 and accepts credit cards.
Home Hill Aerodrome
The Home Hill Aerodrome is located on Heatley Road, Home Hill.
The Home Hill Aerodrome is a grass only strip and can only be utilised in dry weather. There is marked powerlines at the western end of the strip.
Clare Airstrip
The Clare Airstrip is located on the Cnr Dunn and George Roads
The Clare Airstrip is a grass only strip and can only be utilised in dry weather.
Millaroo Airstrip
The Millaroo Airstrip is locatied on Newman Road
The Millaroo Airstrip is a grass only strip and can only be utilsied in dry weather. There is powerlines present on the road verge adjacent to the airstrip.
Dalbeg Airstrip
The Dalbeg Airstrip is located on Foreman Walsh Road
The Dalbeg Airstrip is a grass only strip and can onlybe utilised in dry weather.
