Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort

Biography

Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort is a proud born and raised Burdekin resident and business owner, who is serving her first term as Mayor of the Burdekin Shire Council. Pierina has previously served twelve years as a Councillor from 2004 to 2016.

Pierina is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) having received this accreditation in 1977 and completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors training in 2017.

Pierina has been a member of the Burdekin Chamber of Commerce since 1982 and has served as President from September 1993 to 1999 and as an Executive Member from 2020 to 2022. She has also been Treasurer of the Local Government Women’s Association from January 2014 to September 2022, having been a member since 2009.

Pierina has an interest in community, youth, business and economic development, crime prevention and wants to see improvements to housing shortages.

Pierina and her partner Trevor have a fur baby Della, who is a 10-year-old Pomeranian.
