Water Billing
Burdekin Shire Council charges a two part water tariff that includes a fixed access charge and a two tiered consumption charge. Tier 1 charges apply to annual water consumption from zero to 1,000 kilolitres and Tier 2 charges apply for annual water consumption over 1,000 kilolitres. Water meters are read twice per financial year in October/November and May/June. Half-yearly water consumption notices are issued in January and the end of financial year water consumption charges are included on the annual notice issued in August.
Council resolved that the following pricing structure be adopted for water supply for 2024/25:
