Animals may end up in the Council pound via wandering, trapping or having been dropped off.

The owner will be contacted to advise of the impound of their cat or dog if it is registered and wearing a registration tag or is microchipped with current details. When the owner cannot be contacted the animals will be placed on the website.

Release fees will apply to the release of the animal, please refer to fees and charges.  Owners will be required to register and/or microchip their cat or dog prior to release.  An inspection may also be required of the animal’s enclosure to prevent further escapes.

Animals will be held in the pound for 3 business days, not including the first day and must be claimed prior to 4pm on the third day.
