Biography
Councillor Max Musumeci is serving his second term as a Councillor of Burdekin Shire Council after being elected in 2020. At the post-election meeting on 3 April 2024, Cr Musumeci was elected as Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Musumeci has a background in agriculture, trade industries and sales and has qualifications in farming and sales, along with experience and a strong interest in property development. He has received a number of accolades obtained over many years volunteering in various roles. Being born in Home Hill and with a farm on the North side of the Burdekin River, Max’s roots in the Shire run deep. Max has always been community-minded and is a Director of the Home Hill and Ayr Bendigo Community Bank branches (2013 - present). He is a former Coordinator for the Cane Field Ashes for three years and former Providore of the Home Hill Golf Club.
While having all residents in mind, Max’s key areas of interest include agriculture, building and construction, and community strengthening.
Max is married with two children.
