Councillor Michael Detenon

Biography

Councillor Michael Detenon is well-recognised as a local business owner and keen fisherman, and is serving his second term as a Councillor of Burdekin Shire Council after being elected in 2020 and again in 2024.

Councillor Detenon was born and raised in Ayr, and now lives in Giru with his wife. He has passions for fishing, the outdoors and all forms of sport and is interested in economic development and the promotion of Burdekin tourism.  He is involved in both the Burdekin Fish Restocking Society and was previously the Vice-President of the Ayr Chamber of Commerce. 

Michael loves the Shire and looks forward to continuing to work with the community to make it grow and prosper.
