Council Boosts Safety and Ambience with Solar Lights on Burdekin Be Active Trail
The Burdekin Be Active Trail at Plantation Park in Ayr is set to get a boost with the installation of nine new solar lights along the walking paths between Kennedy Street and the Plantation Creek view
Two of the solar lights will also be installed adjacent to the parking area near the Gudjuda Deck Café, providing better visibility and safety for visitors to the area.
Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said the installation of the solar lights is part of the Council's commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors to the Burdekin region.
"We are delighted to announce that the Burdekin Be Active Trail at Plantation Park will soon have additional lighting for the benefit of the community," Cr McLaughlin said.
"Following many requests, the installation of these solar lights will not only improve the ambient lighting and security along the walking paths but will also make the area more inviting for residents and visitors who wish to walk in the evening or early morning."
The works are being undertaken as part of the Council's ongoing efforts to enhance the recreational and leisure facilities in the Burdekin region. For further information, please contact the Burdekin Shire Council on 4783 9800.
