The Burdekin community is invited to attend a community information session on Wednesday, 12 July 2023 which will introduce the newly implemented Burdekin Shire Council Planning Scheme and Development Assessment Team.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said attendees will gain insights into the assessment procedures conducted under the new planning scheme, the typical requirements involved in the development assessment process and will highlight the influence of external factors, such as the state government, on the outcomes of proposed developments.
“Professional planning consultants Stephen Motti from Brazier Motti and George Milford from Milford Planning, both having extensive experience working in the Burdekin region, will present at the information session,” Cr McLaughlin said.
“Their presentations will emphasise the benefits of engaging with consultants to enhance the community's understanding of the development process and will highlight how submitting a well-prepared application not only saves time but also proves cost-effective for applicants.
“The community information session offers an excellent opportunity for residents, developers, and interested parties to gain valuable knowledge and insights into the new Burdekin Shire Council Planning Scheme giving participants a clearer understanding of the requirements and factors that influence the success of a development project.”
