Burdekin Libraries’ digital offerings a success yet again
Serving as a vibrant hub for digital learning and exploration the Burdekin Libraries’ digital offerings have proven to be a huge success.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said the Burdekin Library offers a wide range of opportunities and learning experiences that cater to the evolving needs and interests of the community.
“From Monday board games and after-school coding classes to school holiday sessions and technology programs, the Burdekin Library offers a diverse range of opportunities for residents of all ages,” Cr McLaughlin said.
“Over a number of months the Burdekin Library has collaborated with Clare State School to assist in strengthening their digital curriculum and to enhance students’ learning experiences, equipping them with essential digital skills.
“Tech Connect, a standout program at the Burdekin Library, provides invaluable learning opportunities for individuals of all ages.
“Participants can engage in workshops that explore topics such as LinkedIn Learning, scam awareness training, smartphone photography techniques and photo editing.
“Nestled upstairs at the Burdekin Library, the Create@108 space offers a multitude of possibilities for individuals to unleash their imagination and bring ideas to life.
“From building robots to digital design and 3D printing, the space offers resources and equipment to facilitate a wide range of creative endeavours and serves as a hub for workshops and collaborative projects.
“The Burdekin Library continues to expand its offerings and community outreach with several exciting initiatives; High school students have the opportunity to utilise AV equipment for presentations and workshops to help individuals learn and explore the fascinating world of 3D printing.”
