Nominations Now Open for the 2025 Australia Day Awards
Burdekin Shire Council is excited to announce that nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards are now open.
These awards offer a unique opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding individuals and groups in our community who have made significant contributions throughout the year.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort encourages residents to nominate those who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to make a positive impact.
"Australia Day is a time to reflect on what it means to be Australian, and part of that is acknowledging the incredible contributions of those who work tirelessly to enhance the lives of others in our community," said Mayor Dalle Cort.
“Surely, there is a group or individual you know in our community deserving of a nomination.”
The process is simple, and the impact of recognising someone’s hard work and dedication is immeasurable.
Nomination forms are available on Council’s website by visiting bit.ly/AusDay2025, or collect one from the Council Chambers. Nominations close Wednesday 4 December 2024, so be sure to submit your entry before the deadline.
Winners will be announced and celebrated at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony on January 26 2025, as part of the Shire’s official Australia Day celebrations.
