Support for Homeownership Through Queensland Housing Finance Loan
The Burdekin Shire Council is encouraging eligible residents to take advantage of the Queensland Housing Finance Loan (QHFL).
The Queensland Housing Finance Loan (QHFL) is a government initiative designed to support Queenslanders in achieving homeownership.
The QHFL provides low-deposit home loans with no lenders’ mortgage insurance, making it easier for low to moderate-income earners to purchase or build their own home.
With rising housing costs and increasing demand for affordable housing, this initiative offers much-needed relief for those striving to enter the property market.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort highlighted the significance of this program in supporting local residents.
“This loan scheme is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and families in our community who may have found homeownership out of reach,” Mayor Dalle Cort said.
“With affordable housing being a key priority for our region, programs like the Queensland Housing Finance Loan help reduce financial barriers and offer a pathway to stability and independence.”
The QHFL is designed for first-time homebuyers and is available to those who meet the eligibility criteria, including Queensland residents who do not already own property and who can meet income and deposit requirements.
