Council seeks community feedback on Draft Sport and Recreation Plan update
Burdekin Shire Council is inviting community members to participate in the consultation process for the Draft Update of the Burdekin Sport and Recreation Plan.
Following extensive community consultations held earlier this year, a draft plan has now been completed, and Council is seeking feedback to ensure the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the Burdekin community.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort said the community’s involvement is crucial in shaping the future of sport and recreation in the Burdekin.
“Sports and recreation are vital to the health and wellbeing of residents at all ages,” Mayor Dalle Cort said.
“This draft plan provides a strategic vision for enhancing our facilities, programs, and services to better meet the needs of everyone.
“Now is the time for residents to have their say to ensure the final plan aligns with their expectations.”
Council encourages all residents to review the draft plan via Council’s website and share their thoughts through a feedback form, which can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DraftSportRecPlan. Alternatively, hard copies of the draft plan are available for viewing at Council Chambers and the Burdekin Library Ayr or Home Hill Branches.
The consultation period closes on Monday 28 October 2024 and provides a valuable opportunity for residents to share their insights and contribute to the future of sport and recreation in the Shire.
