Last chance to have say on Burdekin Water Park
Burdekin residents are being urged to make sure their voices are heard, with community consultation on the Burdekin Water Park closing at 5pm this Friday, 30 April.
Community consultation has focused on both the size and potential fee structure of the water park, which was identified in previous community consultation as a priority in the ANZAC Park Precinct Master Plan.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said hundreds of responses had been received to date from all ages and townships within the community.
“I want to thank everyone who has already provided feedback in Council’s Burdekin Water Park community consultation, and encourage anyone who is yet to do so to complete the survey by this Friday afternoon,” Cr McLaughlin said.
“This community consultation has been open for one month and invited feedback on both the size of the water park – whether it includes large slides or not – as well as potential fee structures for the facility.
“For those who still have questions, a drop-in session will be held at the Ayr Swimming Pool this Thursday from 12-2pm where residents can meet with Council’s Manager Community Services to ask any questions they have before completing the survey.”
A Burdekin Water Park drop-in session will be held at the Ayr Swimming Pool this Thursday, 29 April from 12-2pm. Community consultation on the Burdekin Water Park will close at 5pm on Friday 30 April. Feedback can be provided with hard copy surveys available at Council’s Foyer and both the Ayr and Home Hill branches of the Burdekin Library, or online by visiting bit.ly/BDKWaterPark.
